How the money works

When you tap a Buy button on WhyDidIBuyThis.in, you're taken to a merchant's site (Flipkart, Amazon.in, Myntra and others) through a tracked affiliate link. If you end up buying, the merchant pays us a small percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway— the commission comes out of the merchant's marketing budget, not your wallet.

Whose programs we use

• •Cuelinks — a sub-affiliate network that connects us to merchants like Myntra.
• •EarnKaro — a sub-affiliate network we use for merchants like Flipkart.
• •Amazon Associates — our application is pending approval. Once approved, the following applies: As an Amazon Associate, WhyDidIBuyThis earns from qualifying purchases.

A note on sub-affiliate networks: with Cuelinks and EarnKaro, we don't have a direct contract with each merchant — the network sits in the middle, tracks the sale and shares the commission with us. Your experience on the merchant's site is identical either way.

About the prices you see

Prices on this site are indicative. Each one is shown with the date we last checked it (the little "checked 12 Aug" note), because Indian e-commerce prices move faster than festival traffic. The final price is always the one on the merchant's site at checkout — that's the one that counts.

Does this change what we recommend?

It's designed not to. Commission is exactly 5 points of our 25-point selection rubric, and no product gets published below 16 points regardless of what it pays. Sponsored placements are always labeled. Read the full process on how we pick products.
